Dental care is one of the Cary Grove Animal Hospital team's passions!  Our doctors and staff are well trained to treat dental problems with dogs and cats.  Periodontal disease and gingivitis are some of the most common diseases that we see in pets today.  Along with creating bad breath, mouth pain and difficulty eating, dental disease can negatively affect the function of vital organs including the heart, liver, and kidneys.

Many times dental disease in pets goes undetected by the owners and pets suffer in silence.  The signs may be very subtle, including bad breath or a slight decreased appetite.  Regular dental care at home is important.  Brushing your pet's teeth daily is best, but even a couple times a week is beneficial.  Dental chews and rinses may also provide some benefit.  However, if your pet already has established disease, they will need professional evaluation and treatment.

We offer Comprehensive Oral Health Assessments and Treatment / Periodontal Therapies.  During each dental procedure, all teeth are ultrasonically cleaned on the crown of the tooth and underneath the gum line.  All teeth are individually probed, evaluated and charted to assess for any disease.

Dental Radiographs or x-rays are taken to assess teeth to evaluate the root structure and also help identify disease that may not be otherwise visible.

Cary Grove Animal Hospital is fully equipped with all needed dental tools including a high speed drill, ultrasonic cleaner, polisher, dental x-ray machine, and instruments for major and minor extractions.

In addition to full dentistry services, we also perform oral tumor removal, gingival hyperplasia removal, oronasal fistula repair, and other types of oral surgery.

Treatment Plan/Estimates will be provided before dental procedures, however many times we can not fully evaluate your pet's mouth until they are under anesthesia.  For this reason, it is important we know your wishes as to completing other procedures or extractions as necessary, or have a phone number in which to reach you at.

Please contact us if you have any questions regarding your dog or cat's teeth cleaning and treatment.
